The actor Rachel Creamer and 24:7 Theatre Festival Manager Annika Edge to launch What A Little Bird Told Me

Along with award-winning director Alyx Tolean their new theatre company is determined to increase female representation in Manchester theatre by simply putting women on a stage and letting them tell stories.

The first production, Colder Than Here by Laura Wade, is a contemporary story about Myra and her family.

Myra, played by Joyce Branagh, is planning her funeral. She wants a natural burial with a cardboard coffin painted with the sky and stars and she also wants her family to talk to one another.

This witty and delicate piece follows a family, fractured and consumed by individual angst. Sisters Jenna (Rachel Creamer) and Harriet (Laura Sharp) and their father Alec (Leo Atkin) are united in their helplessness of having to watch their mother and wife dying, whilst Myra is convinced that she has everything covered.

Myra considers planning her funeral as a family bonding exercise much to her family’s dismay.
