Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has been charged this morning with an additional count of rape
The footballer was originally accused of attacking three women at his home in Cheshire between October 2020 and August 2021 and last month was charged with two additional counts of rape.
He was charged last week with the latest offence but this was subject to reporting restrictions.
The restrictions were lifted earlier as Mr Mendy appeared at Chester Crown Court for a hearing ahead of his trial.
The charge relates to a new complainant and is alleged to have taken place in July this year.
