The CEO of a Manchester based humanitarian charity is calling for all military actors in the Syrian conflict to respect the sanctity of hospitals and other institutions that provide help to people.

Othman Moqbel is supporting Conservative MP Flick Drummond who, today at party conference, called for the stopping of barrel bombs. Othman is calling for the illegality of barrel bombs and is supporting the necessity of a no-fly zone.
Human Appeal, a UK humanitarian aid charity, provides medical aid to the people of Syria and refugees on the Syrian border and the charity operates a maternity & paediatric hospital in Aleppo that has also been the target of repeated airstrikes. 

Humanitarian aid workers have also been a target of violence in Syria and Manchester’s Human Appeal are one of the most active providers of humanitarian aid in Syria.

Human Appeal distribute 8,000 tonnes of flour every month – feeding 208,000 people, they distribute 16,500 foods parcels on a monthly basis to 130 IDP camps in Northern Syria, they have supplied fresh water for more than 50,000 people in Aleppo. 

As well as this Human Appeal operate 3 schools which provides education for 2,000 Syrian students, provide emergency support for people who flee Aleppo through 30,000 “ready to eat” food packages and have rebuilt 750 homes damaged by air strikes.
