Police are appealing for information after two men robbed a cash in transit driver in Rusholme last week
At 11:15am on Thursday 6 April police were called to Wynnstay Grove to reports that the driver had been robbed after making a pickup at a premise on the street and being approached by two men, one of whom was carrying a baseball bat.
The man carrying the bat held it up as though he was going to strike the driver and told him to open the cash box he was carrying.
When he told the offenders that he was unable to, they both fled the scene with the cash box.
The first offender is described as a white man, aged approximately 24-25 and of medium build with messy black hair and thick black eyebrows. He was wearing a black anorak style jacket and black bottoms.
The second offender, who was carrying the baseball bat, is described as a 6ft 1in tall white man, aged approximately 27 and of skinny build. He was wearing a black North Face type jacket, a black woolly beanie hat and dark bottoms.
Detective Constable Lisa McGrane of GMP’s City of Manchester team said: “Although physically unharmed, this robbery left the driver extremely shaken up having been in fear for his own safety.
“We are urgently appealing to anyone who may have information that they believe can assist us with our enquiries to please come forward.”
