Canvas, Circle Square, is set to be Manchester’s newest next-generation music, wellness and entertainment catalyst for the community.

A space for music lovers to meet, connect, collaborate and party, it comes from the team behind two of London’s most established music venues, Oval Space and Pickle Factory.

Opening 8th July, Canvas will feature a state-of-the-art 600 capacity music and events room, a members’ lounge, and a ground floor bar and kitchen that serves global small plates. The venue will be open until 4am 7-days-a-week.

As well as hosting live gigs and club nights, the events room will host regular panel talks, wellness classes and dance classes. The Canvas music programme will run throughout the building; from full-capacity gigs to DJ sets in the members’ lounge, plus new talent showcases in the bar and restaurant.

The Canvas Membership Programme is now open for founding member applications, where members will receive an array of desirable perks, such as; access to 2 free gigs each month; wellness programmes; exclusive discounts and cashback; access to the members’ balcony and private late-night bar until 4am.

Canvas Bar and Kitchen champions the diverse nature of the city by offering global small plates, international natural wines and cocktails made from the finest spirits. In the lead-up to the opening, the Canvas Bar and Kitchen will also invite guests to dine with a soft-opening offer of 50% off food on Tuesday 5th – Wednesday 6th July for lunch / dinner, and from Monday 11th – Sunday 17th July for breakfast.

The Canvas Bar and Kitchen will be fully open on Thursday 7th July. More information on the soft-opening and booking can be found here.

Commencing with a diverse calendar of events, all of the Canvas venues will be fully open to the public from 8th July.

On Saturday 9th July, join SNO and DISCHI in the Members’ Lounge for an evening of magical cosmic-pop-potion sounds – with music that spans across hip-hop, disco, electronic and soul.

Hailing from the township of Bophelong in South Africa, SNO, born Selina Nongaliphe Oliphant, has always seen music as a beacon of strength and hope to the marginalised. Currently a resident of Manchester, she is woven very tightly into the city’s dynamic music scene.

Kicking-off the first of the ongoing series of Canvas residencies, SNO will be joined by DISCHI – the vibrant, northern-born soul sisters – Chia Kali and Demi Baitsy.

SNO’s residency will incorporate live music in her DJ sets, including vocalists, poets and instrumentalists inspired and influenced by black music and culture. There will also be a specific focus on providing a platform for female talent and other under represented groups.

Entry will be limited. Tickets for the guestlist are available here.
