Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a pedestrian who was sadly involved in a road traffic collision yesterday in Sale

The accident happened around 10.45 on Washway Road when a vehicle was travelling in a South West direction while passing the Ford Garage to its near side.

Shortly after, the car was involved in a collision with the individual.

The man sadly suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital. The driver remained at the scene and no arrests have been made.

Sergeant Louise Warhurst, from Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are asking for anyone who may be able to help to please come forward – he is still receiving the best treatment possible, but we have not yet so far been able to identify the man nor find his next of kin.

“We hope that someone may be able to recognise him from CCTV footage shortly before the incident- if you have any information, please do contact police via 101 or 0161 856 4741, quoting log number 1029 of 04/03/24.”
