Andy Burnham’s march on Downing Street became more certain this morning after a possible leadership candidate ruled himself out of the contest
The Chief secretary to the Pretty me Minister Darren Jones has said he will not run to become the leader of the Labour Party.
He told Sky News’ Beth Rigby that he won’t be challenging Andy Burnham after getting reassurances over his economic policy
He said that over 100 MPs were unhappy and that he did have numbers adding that he was also angry on a “personal level” over Kier Starmer’s forced exit and that he felt a bit disappointed” in the way that the Prime Minister had been treated
However Al Carns is still considering entering the race
He told the BBC Newsnight programme that he wanted to see a “really clear policy platform” from Andy Burnham and any other Labour leadership challengers before deciding whether to run
