An immersive projection and live music experience will make its UK debut at Manchester Cathedral for a strictly limited run from 16 January

After already captivating more than one million visitors around the world and has illuminated twenty historic landmarks across France, the USA, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, Luminescence now arrives in the UK for the first time, bringing a combination of 360 degree video mapping, new orchestral arrangements of iconic songs and a narrative that celebrates Manchester and the Cathedral itself.

The experience includes a brand new script written by BAFTA award winner Tim Whitnall and narration from Christopher Eccleston. A live performance by the Manchester Collectives Gospel Choir adds a powerful choral element, with orchestral reinterpretations of anthems by Oasis, The Verve and Elbow.

Inside the Cathedral, light from a battalion of high power projectors becomes the storyteller.

Every statue, carving, pillar and stained glass window is transformed into a living canvas. The projections reveal the intricate beauty of the architecture and explore the human stories behind the Cathedral, including its endurance through centuries of history.

The early access waitlist opens on 11 November via the link here, and general on sale begins on 18 November for performances running from 16 January to 26 March 2026.
