BELLE Vue have been boosted by the news that Jye Etheridge has been declared fit to race and will return to action for the ATPI Aces against Ipswich on Monday, June 6.

The TruMix Witches recently unseated the ATPI Aces from the top of the Premiership table after winning at home to King’s Lynn on Thursday.

The Mancunians have their eye firmly set on returning to the top of the table, and a big win at home would put them in a prime position to do so.

Monday’s Speedway Grand Prix Qualifier in Abensberg, Germany means that the ATPI Aces will be without No.1 Max Fricke and reserve Norick Blödorn, who are both taking part in that meeting.

Belle Vue will operate Rider Replacement for Fricke, while highly rated Poole Pirates rider Zach Cook steps in for Blödorn at No.6.

Ipswich also find themselves a couple of men down, with Erik Riss taking part in the Hungarian SGP Qualifier while Paul Starke is confined to the sidelines due to injury.

The Witches will operate R/R at No.2 for Starke while former Belle Vue rider Justin Sedgmen steps in to cover for Riss at No.4.

Belle Vue CEO Mark Lemon said: “Firstly, it’s great to see Jye back with the team. We’ve been monitoring his fitness closely and are glad to report he has recovered very well after a practice ride.

“Obviously the clash with the SGP Qualifiers is not only disappointing, but very frustrating.

“It’s a mystery as to why the FIM have chosen a UK race night for those meetings as both teams – Ipswich and Belle Vue – have been affected in terms of rider availability.

“Luckily we have a team of racers who have proved before now that they can pick up the slack and adapt to each and every situation as it comes.

“I’m confident they will put on a good performance at home, as they have done recently.

“Using the rider replacement facility is never ideal as it places extra pressure on the boys but I have the faith in them to deal with it and with the Witches”.

The Jubilee weekend in Manchester concludes on Monday, June 6 with Premiership action featuring the ATPI Aces as they take on Ipswich at 7:30pm.

Tickets, meeting programmes, hospitality and south car parking are now available to reserve online at bellevue-speedway.com.
