Police are appealing for information following an attempted rape which took place in Dukenfield in the early hours of Easter Monday.
The woman aged in her 30’s was walking through a ginnel linking Underwood Street to Chapel Street when she was approached by three men.
Two of the men dragged the woman, to the ground. One of the men sexually assaulted her before attempting to rape her.
The three men then left the scene.
One of the men is described as having dark skin and was wearing dark clothing.
No further descriptions are available.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Sajid Pervaiz of GMP’s Tameside District said: “Specialist officers are supporting the victim of this awful attack while we attempt to find those responsible.
“Were you in the area around the time or have any information that can assist us?
“If so, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
