England and Lancashire bowler James Anderson will step up his rehabilitation this week by playing for Lancashire’s Second XI.
He will feature in the three-day friendly against Leicestershire at Northern Cricket Club, which begins tomorrow.
He will be assessed on an ongoing basis ahead of selection for the fourth Specsavers Ashes Test at Emirates Old Trafford starting on Wednesday 4 September.
England meanwhile have changed an unchanged squad for the third test at Leeds following yesterdsy’s Draw at Lords
