Manchester’s Albert Square will be the scene of a demonstration this evening against the decision of American President Donald Trump’s decision to ban people from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from travelling to the US.

The protest, organised on Facebook over the weekend says the protest is against “Prime Minister’s decision to ally herself with Trump’s Fascist America”

Hours after the Prime Minister left Washington in the early hours of Saturday morning, the president signed the executive order bringing in with immediate effect the ban which was condemned by Mrs May.

Reports this morning suggest though that Britain has secured assurances from the White House that the vast majority of UK citizens will be exempted from the immigration ban.

Yesterday four-time Olympic gold medal winner, who was born in Somalia, voiced fears that the ban could mean he had to tell his children “Daddy may not be able to come home,” because of the ban.

The demonstration will begin at 6.00pm and do far 1,700 people have expressed an interest in attending
