After 10 years presenting world-class street festivals across Cumbria, Yorkshire and the Tees Valley, Streets Ahead returns to its spiritual home – the lakeside in Platt Fields – with a free festival for everyone in Manchester.

Puppets and songs, circus and dance and a parent powered carousel are all part of a delightful afternoon of street theatre, acoustic music and fun activities for all, featuring a dazzling, if somewhat eccentric, array of performances including inquisitive but friendly ‘dogs’; superstars of the ballroom world; a quintessentially English display of equine dressage (all the way from France); and an opportunity to join a wedding ceremony – an offer you can’t refuse!

The line-up includes cabaret and frolics from the outrageous Cocoloco, amazing puppetry form Frolicked and Big Rory with his dog Ochie, L’Elephant Vert, Les Goulous, plus a few surprises even we don’t know about!

Bring your own picnic or eat your way around the world from some great local street food stalls.

Platt Fields Park, Sunday July 7, 1.00pm -6.00pm
