A new drama inspired by the true story of the pioneers behind IVF is coming to cinemas on 15th November and Netfix on 22nd November.

In 1978 Oldham made medical history when Louise Brown, the world’s first “test-tube” baby, was born on 25th July 1978 at Oldham General Hospital, thanks to the groundbreaking IVF treatment pioneered in Britain

The ups and downs of their trials and lab work are shown in detail and the film, which spans from the late 1960’s to the late 70’s, also delves into the toll the negative public perception of the venture took on their private lives.

Louise Joy Brown attended the premiere.
“Without them, those three, I wouldn’t be here, nor would 12 million of us. So, it’s not just a few of us, there are quite a few now,” she said.
