Trafford Council has granted planning permission for 88 new homes on New Street in Altrincham, including 40% affordable housing.

Delivered by housing association L&Q, the development will feature, Accessible and adaptable homes with private gardens and balconies

There will be 24 three-bed family homes, and 64 one- and two-bed apartments

The development will also see 49 new trees planted and not green space including an expanded New Street Green

Ben Townsend, New Business Director for the North West at L&Q, said: “We’re understandably delighted to get planning committee approval, and would like to thank Trafford Council and the local community for their input, which has helped us to shape our plans to ensure they fit with the vision for Altrincham town centre.

“L&Q is committed to building homes in the places where the housing need is greatest, and this development will help to regenerate a brownfield site, providing sustainable, quality new and affordable homes within an attractive place the whole community can enjoy. They will also help to support national efforts to speed up the delivery of 1.5 million new, much-needed homes across the country.”
