An 87 year old man has died after being hit by a car while crossing the road in Salford on Saturday evening
The incident happened around 5.45pm on on Great Cheetham Street East
The man was struck by a Vauxhall Astra and was taken to hospital for treatment, however he has since sadly died.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their investigation. No arrests have been made in relation to this incident, however an investigation into the collision will continue.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV footage, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the incident.
