76-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Middleton yesterday
A 63 year-old man remained at the scene and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
He had been driving a Vauxhall Astra up Wood Street in the direction of Eastway. The pedestrian was crossing the road while the vehicle was travelling up Wood Street when the vehicle has collided with the pedestrian.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
