A man has been left with a life changing injury following a stabbing in Middleton yesterday afternoon.

The incident took place at Stakehill Industrial Estate around 2.00pm when a 37-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck as he sat in a car.

He was taken to hospital where remains in a stable condition however his injuries are thought to be life changing.

Detective Inspector Adrian Gallagher, of GMP’s Rochdale borough, said: “Our thoughts remain with this man as he receives treatment in hospital.

“We are treating this as an isolated incident but understand that this may cause concern in the community.

“I want to assure the public that we have a team of detectives working on this investigation who are following several lines of enquiry.

“You may see extra officers patrolling the area, if you have any concerns please approach them and they will assist you in any way they can.”
