A 33-year-old man from the Hulme area has been arrested after a seventeen year old girl was raped in Blackley in the early hours of this morning in a car on Victoria Avenue East.
Detective Inspector Mark Davis, from GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said: “I know the concern that this incident will cause in the local community, however I want to reassure residents that we are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
“We have been carrying out significant enquiries since the incident was reported to us, which has now resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man who remains in custody at this time.
“Our investigation does not stop here and I would ask that anybody who believes they have information that can assist our enquiries please contacts police.”
