A taxi driver has taken to hospital, where he remains with serious injuries after a collision with a bus late last night in Ashton-under-Lyne

A 32 year old man has died after being hit by a vehicle on Worsley Road North which then failed to stop

Police believe that the pedestrian was stood at a bus stop and has possibly had a medical episode which has caused him to fall onto the carriageway.

Following the collision the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and continued northbound on Worsley Road in the direction of Bolton.

PC Horner of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family who are understandably devastated by the tragic event that occurred on Wednesday 20 July.

“We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this incident and are appealing to anyone with information or dashcam and CCTV footage of the incident to contact officers in the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting log 3710 20/07/2022
