A man is currently fighting for his life following a collision in Stockport yesterday evening.

The 28-year-old man was hit by a double decker bus on Hyde Road at the junction with Station Road in Woodley around 7.30.

He was taken to hospital with serious head injuries and remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the bus remained at the scene to speak with officers and no arrests have been made.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Police Constable Darren White, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A man is fighting for his life in hospital as a result of this collision and our thoughts are very much with him and his family as he receives treatment.

“We are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding this incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information or dash-cam footage to get in touch.”
