A 20-year-old man is in hospital suffering from life threatening injuries after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a hit and run driver yesterday evening in Little Hulton.

The driver and occupants of the Blue Fiat made off from the scene on Clegg Lane on foot.

A 23-year-old man, who was also on the motorbike, was located later by officers and treated for minor injuries.

Police have launched an investigation and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.

Detective Inspector Lee Moriarty from GMP’s Salford borough said: “First of all my thoughts are with the man as he receives treatment in hospital.

“We have launched an investigation and we are currently searching for the driver and occupants of the blue Fiat.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision, and in particular those who may have dash-cam footage.

“Officers will be in the area as we continue our investigation and I would like to encourage anyone with any questions, concerns or information to speak to them.”
