Who is Elle for Elle?
Started by two friends, Lynette Page-Collin and Rachel O’Hare, Elle for Elle collects body care, haircare and cosmetics from public donations and donates these to women’s refuges, and shelters across the North-West of England.
Currently, there are 305 female refugees in the UK, housing on average 12 women per site. In most cases, bathrooms are shared per 3 women offering 4 bathrooms per site. That’s potentially 1,220 bathrooms to fill in the UK and 132 being in the North West.
Elle for Elle ensures each woman has a welcome pack with basic toiletries, unused cosmetics and food vouchers. They also make sure all bathroom cupboards are stocked with basic necessities so women who have fled their homes with nothing don’t feel demeaned having to ask for basic products.
£5 of all ticket sales will be donated to our chosen charity, with £1 added onto our diner’s bills throughout the month of March.
