An 18-year-old woman was left with serious head injuries and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition after being hit by a car in Lower Kersal yesterday afternoon
An 18-year-old man driving a black Ford Fiesta, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and possession of cannabis. He remains in custody.
The incident happened at the junction of Kingsley Avenue and Cheadle Avenue around 5.50pm
Police Constable Simon Venguedasalon, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim as she remains in hospital for treatment to what are serious head injuries and we wish her well with her recovery.
“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of this collision or who may have dash cam footage of the proceeding moments leading up to this incident – your information may prove to be crucial evidence as we piece together what happened here.”
