Popular Worsley hotspot, George’s Dining Room & Bar, has been awarded with its first prestigious AA Rosette.
The highly regarded recognition awards are awarded solely by AA Hotel and Restaurant Inspectors and George’s achievement was based on an inspector visit conducted in November where they concluded head chef Andrew Parker and his team offers “A great mix of classic and fun cooking.”

The AA Rosette scheme is long established and recognises cooking at different levels nationwide. The Rosette now puts George’s in the top 10% of restaurants across the UK.
As George’s approaches its 2-year anniversary, the team within the canal-side restaurant are thrilled to have been recognised for their hard work. Alongside Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs, George’s is owned by directors Kelvin Gregory and Bernie Taylor with Andrew Parker leading the kitchen.
Speaking of their triumph, Kelvin said: “Myself, Bernie and Ryan are extremely proud of this achievement which is the result of hard work and commitment from the fantastic team behind George’s. To exceed the standards set by the AA inspection team is a great accomplishment and I’d like to thank them and our loyal and supportive customers. I hope this latest accolade will bring new diners to George’s and the whole team is looking forward to offering a Rosette worthy dining experience.”
The kitchen has been working tirelessly to create the optimum menu for George’s visitors and Andrew is pleased the time his team has put in has paid off. He said: “Having recently launched our new Autumn/Winter menu with a combination of traditional and innovative meals, I’m satisfied that we have achieved our objective of offering premium dining with a classic twist all within a relaxed setting. I’d like to thank all of my team and front of house staff for helping us gain our first AA Rosette and we look forward to receiving more in the future.”
The Dining Room and Bar continue to offer an extensive menu producing innovative Rosette style dishes including Liquorice Poached Venison Fillet whilst maintaining classic favourites such as Battered Haddock, Mushy Peas and French Fries. Also serving breakfasts, afternoon tea and a children’s menu, whilst offering private dining and conference facilities, George’s covers all bases within the North West restaurant industry.
