Yusuf/Cat Stevens has today announced a UK and North American book tour, titled Cat On The Road To Findout – An Evening Of Tales, Tunes And Other Mysteries taking place through September and October. The tour accompanies the release of Yusuf’s long-awaited memoir, Cat On The Road To Findout.
Launching in the UK on 18th September, the new autobiography is an extraordinary soul-baring journey through the triumphs, trials, and transcendental quest of one of music’s most enigmatic figures of our time.
Following on from the formula of Yusuf’s momentous ‘A Cat’s Attic’ tour, Cat On The Road To Findout – An Evening Of Tales, Tunes And Other Mysteries is an intimate night where stories, songs, and truths intertwine. Each night, Stevens will engage in an in-depth conversation about his life and memoir, which chronicles his evolution from chart-topping pop star to spiritual explorer. The evening will also feature select unplugged performances of songs that have defined generations, offering an up-close journey through the life and music of one of our most beloved artists.
More than a performance, it’s a portal into Yusuf/Cat Stevens’ universe: personal art, illustrations and photographs, flickering film, and treasured artifacts invite the audience deeper into his journey, while live and recorded music and candid tales illuminate the man behind the myth.
A rare chance to see Yusuf/Cat Stevens on stage, the book tour is his first UK tour for nine years and will take in seven shows at intimate theatres across the country, beginning on 6th September at Cambridge’s Corn Exchange, and closing on 22nd September at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. It will follow Yusuf’s much-anticipated appearance at BST Hyde Park, London on 11th July as special guest to Neil Young.
Yusuf’s last UK festival appearance was his much-celebrated Glastonbury Festival debut in June 2023, where he performed a rapturously received set in the coveted Sunday tea-time legends on the Pyramid Stage. The Guardian hailed it as a “triumph for a performer who lived up to legend slot”, The Times found it to be “a highlight of the entire Glastonbury weekend” while NME remarked of the performance, “a beautiful, emotional and perfectly judged set”.
The Official Artist Presale begins Wednesday, May 21st at 10 AM local time, with VIP packages available exclusively for the first 24 hours. Public on-sale begins Friday, May 23rd at 10 AM local time.
Speaking about the book tour, Yusuf/Cat Stevens says: “Having passed through the exhaustingly complex maze of everyday material life, ascending the dizzying heights of wealth, recognition and artistic achievements, I think I’ve got a few things to share. Keeping an open mind was part of the nature I instinctively maintained as a creative songwriter. Nothing was off-bounds. Music was a way of discovering my purpose within the universe. I just kept on exploring, reading and learning more, ignoring myths and warnings and crossing dangerous-looking bridges into the vast ranges of philosophies and through the veils of the spiritual unknown.
Now I have written a book which explains what I’ve learned and the stories along the way. That doesn’t make me a teacher, but more of a potential specimen for those who are searching and pursuing happiness on all sides of the divide. Believe me, folks, it’s out there!”
More than a memoir, Cat On The Road To Findout is a backstage pass to the mind of a man who has lived a thousand lives. Missing from the public narrative has been the intimate story of his deeply emotive transformation – until now. The book finally reveals the curious complexity and intellectual reasoning behind his navigation through life – a voyage which has now culminated in his return to music and art, to share his lessons of life with those seekers, dreamers, and believers, who still love and admire him. He remains true to the optimistic message of his melodic peace train.
Cat On The Road To Findout is illustrated with dozens of drawings in Yusuf’s own hand and archival imagery, self-penned with raw honesty and poetic insight. It will be published in hardback, ebook and audiobook format (narrated by the author), by Constable in the UK and Commonwealth on 18th September 2025, and by Genesis Publications in North America on 7th October 2025.
