As the second largest city in the UK, Manchester was once an industrial hub, but those days are long gone. Now, the city is a powerhouse of culture, technology, and entertainment with many of the clubs having taken over former industrial buildings and areas. If you can’t find something to do in Manchester at night, you probably aren’t looking! This is just a quick guide to some of what you will find and there is something for every taste.

Nightlife for the ‘Refined’ Taste

If you are looking for nightlife when in town on business, wining and dining clients, you’ll want to head off to what is referred to as the ‘classy’ area of Spinningfields which is itself an area of Deansgate. Here you will find high-end restaurants and bars and it is just generally a great place to get dressed up for a night of fun and entertainment.

One place that comes highly recommended is the 20 Stories which is a very high-end rooftop bar catering to a very high-end crowd. Here, a tip for the ladies wearing those lovely, soft clingy dresses: you might want to wear something under that will pull your body into places where it’s meant to be. Heist shapewear would work well for that, the reason being is that you won’t want to miss a photo shoot opportunity with a 360-degree view of the Manchester skyline behind you.

The Dance Scene

If it’s a bit of rowdy clubbing you are after, then you will certainly want to head off to clubs like Revolucion de Cuba Manchester or South Manchester, both in Deansgate. These clubs specialise in bringing it all to the dancefloor. The first will have you shaking your hips to the sound of disco Latin style and as the second, this is truly the place to go for hip-hop and dance music led by some of the city’s most talented DJs.

And then there is Hidden, notably one of Manchester’s most popular dance clubs legendary for their parties in the summer that give you four different dance rooms to choose between. This is an award-winning venue and where once the Downtex Mill stood, there is now one of the most famous basement clubs in the UK.

The Arts

Manchester boasts several places to enjoy a bit of the arts if that’s your nightlife preference. There are actually two suggestions for those looking to attend the opera or a lovely theatre and both are owned by The Ambassador Theatre Group. The first is The Palace Theatre and then for a bit of refined music, you could head off to The Opera House. Both offer live entertainment, and both cater to an ‘artsy’ clientele.

So, it doesn’t matter quite what you are looking to do because there really is something for all tastes and all ages. You may even want to do a bit of retro clubbing while you are at it because Manchester has several clubs that date back to the 80s and 90s and are still going strong.
