Work is set to start in January on the St Michael’s scheme in Manchester city centre.

The first phase of the scheme, comprises 185,000 sq ft of office accommodation across nine floors, a new public realm and a rooftop restaurant with views across Manchester

The project, says the developer Relentless will bring £120m of investment into the city and create some 1,800 jobs through its first phase.

In the summer it was announced that plans for a boutique hotel to be included within Gary Neville’s development have been scrapped in favour of office space.

Commenting on the news today Gary Neville said:

“This is a very important project for Manchester. We are really pleased to announce the start in the field, another major step forward in this legacy scheme. The aim is to achieve our world-class development. The city and the UK.

“Our team has been working vigorously with our joint venture partner KKR, along with contractor B & K and the Manchester City Council. The dedication of these teams has enabled the first phase of the new year to come true.”Yea
