Work has started today on one of busiest road junctions in Rochdale
The work at Sudden junction, where Edinburgh Way meets Manchester Road, in Rochdale, is being carried out to significantly improve capacity and journey times at peak times.
The changes being introduced include introducing new responsive traffic signals that will monitor real-time traffic levels to significantly improve the flow of vehicles. A section of bus lane between Bolton Road and Roch Valley is also being removed.
The Bee Network works are funded by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and when completed will create an additional 20 per cent capacity at the junction.
Motorists are being advised tobtake extra time when planning your journeys or if possible consider taking alternative routes.
But when finished these works will significantly reduce journey times for motorists, substantially ease congestion and reduce traffic.
