The 78 year old woman killed after being hit by a car in the Asda carpark has been named as Margaret Crichton
She was hit by a car with the driver of the vehicle involved, a 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Police are trying to identify Margaret’s family and are appealing to anyone who might know her or the family, who are believed to be in Manchester or Yorkshire, to please get in touch with SCIU on 0161 856 4741.
SCIU are continuing with the investigation and are asking for anyone with information to please come forward.
This includes anyone who witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage of it.
