A rescue deal for the chain store Wilkinson has collapsed, with the retailer set to vanish from the High Street with the loss of over 12,000 jobs

The Proposed rescue deal for the chain involving Doug Putman, the owner of HMV has fallen through after weeks of talks and it is now unclear if jobs are to be saved

The deal would have seen B&M European Value Retail buy up to 51 Wilko stores from administrators for £13 million.

However administrators PwC said that “despite extensive efforts” it had become clear that “no significant part of the Wilko operations can be rescued”.

The following stores across Greater Manchester will be by the end of the week
