With the Prime Minister due to address Parliament on Monday to announce the criteria for the proposed three tier lockdown, this could be the reality of life for Greater Manchester residents if the area is subjected to the strongest restrictions

Speculation and leaks from briefings given to local leaders across the North of England say as well as pubs and bars closing, there would be household mixing in/outdoors, no overnight stays outside of area for residents and no overnight stays within area for those who live outside

They would also be no travel within or beyond the area other than for essential reasons such as work and education.

The restrictions would be put into place in four week blocks.

However local leaders say the government are not yet clear at what COVID rate an area would move to Tier 3 and therefore when tightest lockdown measures would be imposed.

Political  leaders in the north are meeting today  to coordinate their response and strategy.
