At the end of September (20-29) San Vito Lo Capo on the Western side of Sicily hosts the international Cous Cous festival on its white sands.

Visitors have the chance to learn how to make cous cous cous plus, there are cooking shows, competitions, tastings and talk shows.  The festival also includes free concerts with performances by Sicilian and international artists. https://www.couscousfest.it/

This authentic, unspoilt area is fascinating and a great base for exploring (by car) the alluring sites and attractions of western Sicily including Segesta (Greek temples), Erice (medieval hilltop town), Marsala and Castellammare (authentic Sicilian fishing town). From here visitors can also take boat trips along the Zingaro Marine Reserve, which is great for diving and snorkelling.
