Salford based company, Violet Hospitality has announced the opening of its debut restaurant, Urban Cookhouse in Central Manchester.

Located on Princess Street, the new bar, restaurant and lounge brings together downtown New York-style casual dining, fusion dishes from around the world and a late night bar, which serves an array of classic and signature cocktails, all situated in an old, converted, shipping warehouse.

Only footsteps away from Manchester’s Gay Village, the restaurant opens on Friday 13 March, bringing an authentic style and sophistication to an area of the city that is seeing a transformation and re-emergence of great dining and drinking venues.

The fusion menu includes diverse flavours and dishes from around the world, including Jamaican inspired jerk loin of pork with sweet chilli pineapple noodles, pak choi and dumplings. For those looking for some deep south flavours try the buttermilk fried whiskey chicken with bourbon sauce and sweet potato scallops.

The restaurant will open seven days a week and will be serving lunch and dinner, with 90 covers. The chilled out lounge area provides a relaxed space to enjoy music and drinks into the night. Thanks to its clever use of space, Urban Cookhouse offers the perfect setting for a business lunch, a leisurely dinner or simply cocktails with friends after work.

Tim Coulston, managing director of Violet Hospitality, comments: “This is an exciting time for the team at Violet Hospitality. We’re really looking forward to launching the Urban Cookhouse in Manchester. We’ve had a fantastic response from people across the city and can’t wait to open the doors to share all our hard work and passion for great food with the people of the city.”

Urban Cookhouse will open its door on Friday 13 March at 4pm with the official VIP launch party being held on Thursday 26 March. The restaurant, bar and lounge is located at 54 Princess Street.
