The Refuge terrace party is set to continue this coming Saturday 20th August with the third Terrace Takeover.

The free events have been taking place across summer and seen The Refuge collaborate with some of the greatest music collectives of our city, next up we have So Flute who will be taking over from 5pm on Saturday.

So Flute emerged now almost a decade ago following in the footsteps of legendary Mancunian club nights such as Friends and Family, Electric Chair and Keep it Unreal. The collective of bright eyed punters turned promoters resided at the much-loved Roadhouse for their early years – recruiting diverse tastemakers and DJs including Gilles Peterson, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Andres, Floating Points to join them in their late nights sessions of soulful worldwide sounds.

Since then, their roster of residents have gone on to play some of Europes finest clubs and festivals. As in-demand as ever, the collective play Moovin, We Out Here and a special outdoor session at The Refuge, whilst holding down residencies at some of Manchester and Liverpool’s premier dancing spots.

The full line-up includes:

Danuka:

Having been on the scene for ten years now, there’s not that many types of gigs Danuka is yet to play. Whether it’s covering for Floating Points on the Main Stage at Dimensions Festival, going back to back with Mr. Scruff at the iconic Band on the Wall, supporting Gilles Peterson in a sweaty sold-out Hidden, or warming up the dance at his very own So Flute… Danuka is able to seamlessly select tunes that fascinate and delight audiences in equal measure.

Yadava:

Manchester scene mainstay and one of the founding members of legendary club night So Flute, Yadava has been spreading the good grooves via his eclectic DJ sets and smooth productions and making waves in the right circles for a good while now. Resident at NTS radio and with an ever-deepening catalogue of seamless productions, he is Mr. Reliable when it comes to making audiences move.

Baloo:

Fellow So Flute co-founder Baloo explores the more obscure and fun tracks on the soul spectrum and often pulls out the future So Flute classics before anyone else. The funniest (and funniest )DJ within the So Flute community!
