Manchester United’s Scott McTominay was the hero of Scotland after his double strike gave his country a famous 2-0 victory over Spain in the Euro 2024 qualifier at Hampden Park tonight

McTominay took his tally to four in just two matches – to put Steve Clarke’s side top of Euro qualifying group after he had stepped off the bench against Cyprus on Saturday to bag a late two goals

It was Scotland’s first win over Spain since 1984 and the goals must surely be a plea for United Manager Erik ten Hag to include the Scot in his plans
