Thousands of Manchester United fans marched to protest against the Glazer family’s involvement in the club ahead of the game against Liverpool at Old Trafford this evening

Fans congregated outside the Tollgate pub to protest against the ownership of the club by the Glazer family before marching to the stadium ahead of kick off

Several clashes with police were reported from outside the stadium as well as reports of attacks on the Liverpool team bus when it arrived at the stadium

Protesters chanted against the Glazer family — “We want Glazers out” — and held banners calling for the Americans to sell United

Many supporters around the ground were wearing green-and-gold scarves — the colours of the club’s 1878 formation — while some also set off flares

“They are ruining the history, traditions and culture of our great club and (we) will not stand by and watch our club rot away any longer,” said The 1958, a fans’ group that arranged Monday’s protest.
