The weekend has seen a war of words in the Tory Party following the introduction of Rishi Sunak’s latest attempts to send refugees to Rwanda

Its so called Star Chamber” of lawyers has reportedly ruled that the legislation put in front of the Commons is insufficiently “watertight” to avoid protracted legal challenges by undocumented migrants seeking to remain in the U.K.

The former Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick who resigned over the legislation has been taking to the airways telling the BBC that the legislation won’t work and asked if he would back the legislation, which is designed to reverse the recent Supreme Court judgment that Rwanda is not a safe place to send asylum seekers. MPs will vote on the proposed law for the first time this week. “No, I won’t be supporting this bill, but I do think we can fix this,”

He added that We’re not sent to parliament to be concerned about our reputations on the gilded international circuit,” while in a further controversial soundbite he told the programme

A million new people coming in to our country every year is damaging our ability to integrate those people”

adding that the UK has “communities… where people are leading parallel lives”
