The Coroner who is to preside over the new inquest into the death of Yousef Makki has ruled is that both Joshua Molnar & Adam Chawdhary shall appear in person to give evidence at the fresh inquest.

Makki was Manchester Grammar School boy who died of stab wounds in Hale Barns in 2019

A jury found his friend Joshua Molnar not guilty of murder or manslaughter,an outcome which at the time was widely questioned, raising issues of class, wealth, and privilege in the justice system.

A subsequent inquest in Stockport concluded a narrative verdict with Senior South Manchester Coroner Alison Mutch saying that she could not safely conclude the death was either unlawful or accidental.

The new Coroner Mr Geraint Williams said “This is a single issue case – was Mr Molnar acting in self-defence” and said the scope of the inquest would include the events on the day leading up to Yousef’s death.
