Inflation fell by more than expected to 3.2% in November, the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics released this morning show
The decline was broadly based, led by a fall in food inflation but with heavier than usual discounting in clothing & footwear and household goods
It is the lowest rate in eight months, although it is still above the Bank of England’s 2 per cent target.
The figures come the day before the Bank of England will decide whether to cut interest rates.
