Two more men, aged 21 and 28 have been arrested following a shooting on Higher Road, Urmston Evening

They have both been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody for questioning

The 21-year-old victim remains in hospital in stable but critical condition

An 18-year-old man was arrested yesterday and all three suspects remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant said: “These additional arrests mark meaningful progress and send a clear message that violence will not be tolerated.

“We understand the fear and uncertainty caused by this incident, but I want to reassure our communities that we believe this to be an isolated incident which poses no further risk to the public.

“Our officers are investigating every line of enquiry to establish the full circumstances and arrest those responsible, and we will continue to take decisive action to protect our neighbourhoods.

“Along with the arrests made today, we will have an increased number of patrols in the area to enhance safety and visibility. We encourage anyone with concerns or queries to approach our officers, who will be more than happy to support.

“I would like to thank the public for their continued patience as we investigate this matter and we urge anyone with information to please come forward and report.”
