Two more people have been arrested following an incident in the City Centre last week in which a group of up to 200 youths caused a disturbance
The group of young people had been attending a party at a bar on Deansgate Locks, when it was shut down due to the threat posed by youths from within the bar and outside and youths made their way towards the city centre with sporadic fights and anti-social behaviour taking place.
Officers have now reached a position in their investigation to release more CCTV images of individuals that they wish to speak to.
Four people, aged between 14 and 18 years old have already been arrested so far on suspicion of affray and have been bailed pending further investigation.
A further two teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16 were arrested this morning on suspicion of violent disorder following early morning warrants in South Manchester, they remain in custody for questioning.
Inspector Glen Rees of GMP’s City Centre neighbourhood team, said: “Today’s arrests follow our earlier appeal made last week and I would like to thank the public’s help in identifying those that we have arrested today.
“Although we have now arrested six individuals, our work continues to crackdown on the disorder that we saw that evening in Manchester City Centre. We will be working closely with local schools and colleges to identify those remaining. Following these arrests we are today releasing new CCTV images of more individuals that we would like the public’s help to identify.
