Two former police officers have been added to the College of Policing Barred List following disciplinary hearings conducted by Greater Manchester Police.

PCs Craig Grocott and Dharamdeep Singh, who both worked in GMP’s Trafford district, would also have both been dismissed had they not already resigned, the hearings on 8 and 9 February 2023 ruled.

Grocott sent numerous messages and photographs to female colleagues that were of a sexual, suggestive and inappropriate nature.

He was told to stop but persisted with his harassing and inappropriate behaviour.

Singh attended an address of a woman while pretending to be there for a policing purpose.

He also attended the home address of the members of the public during the Covid 19 pandemic without a policing purpose.

Both matters were found proven at a level of Gross Misconduct.

Grocott resigned from the force in October 2021, with Singh resigning in December 2021.

Detective Superintendent Steve Keeley, of GMP’s Anti-Corruption Unit, said: “The actions undertaken by these officers was deeply unacceptable and can only undermine confidence in policing.

“This shows the need to consistently root out this type of behaviour and misconduct, and ensure that the perpetrators are dismissed from the service and are barred from ever working in the police again.

“These cases relied on the courage of those reporting them and hopefully these outcomes give confidence that these matters will be treated with the gravity that they deserve.”
