Daniel Whelan, aged 31 of Unsworth Way, Oldham and Alex Whelan,26 of Great Gable Close, Oldham have been charged with attempt murder and an offence under the Firearms Act.
Both men have been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow morris
These charges are in relation to an alleged incident which took place on Wednesday 5 July 2023, where a firearm was believed to be discharged just before 8:00pm around Henshaw Street and Horsedge Street in Oldham.
Chief Superintendent Philip Hutchinson, from GMP’s Oldham district, said: “Our investigation into the discharge of a potential firearm is moving at pace.
“We would like to thank members of the public for supporting our investigation, officers have been working tirelessly to follow lines of enquiries.
“This is believed this to be an isolated incident with no wider threat to the community. Thankfully, no one was injured
