Tributes have been paid to Trafford Labour Councillor Denise Western
It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our good friend and Trafford Labour colleague, ClIr Denise Western, died peacefully this morning following a short illness.
Denise was first elected as a councillor for Broadheath in May 2012 and we know local residents and community groups will be saddened by this news.
She held many roles during her time as a local councillor, including as Chair of Trafford Council’s Children’s Scrutiny Committee.
Denise was a champion of children and young people and ensured their voices were heard.
Our thoughts are with Denise’s family at this time.
Denise is the mother of former Council leader and now MP for Stretford and Urmston Andrew Western
Cllr Tom Ross leader of the council added
Such very sad news today. Denise was a wonderful person, great colleague and supportive friend to all our group members. May she rest in peace, my thoughts are with Andrew Western and his family at this time.
