Tributes have been paid to the fifteen year old boy now named as Israel Iyabor who died on the M60 on Sunday afternoon by his youth team

In a statement Hyde United said

The club is devastated to hear the tragic news that Israel Iyabor, a cherished member of our junior football family, has sadly passed away.Israel was more than just a talented young footballer — he was an influential, bubbly character whose energy, smile, and love for the game lit up every training session and matchday. His coaches describe him as an absolute joy to coach and a privilege to watch on the pitch.

They added

Hyde United sends its deepest condolences to Israel’s family, friends, teammates, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed by all at the club. Rest in peace, Israel.

Floral tributes have been laid at the scene of the incident close to Junction 20 of the Motorway near to Blackley
