Craft-mas arrives in Manchester on Friday 29 November when Etsy Manchester brings some of the region’s finest crafting talent to People’s History Museum for Etsy Made Local Market (Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December).

Friday’s Winter Warmer late-night shopping experience, plus live entertainment and workshops over the weekend are all part of what makes this something that everyone should have on their festive to-do list.

Over 40 of Manchester’s finest makers will be taking over the Grade II listed Edwardian Engine Hall at People’s History Museum, making it the place to be for Christmas shoppers who are looking for truly original gift ideas.  Awaiting visitors is a treasure trove of prints, photography, ceramics, candles, statement jewellery, stationery, textiles, fashion and more – including eco-friendly and vegan product ranges.

Some of Manchester’s finest artisan makers will be taking part. Shop for contemporary silver jewellery by Emily Lisbeth Jewellery, pop over to see Threaded Needle for adorable children’s clothing, admire beautiful pottery by Blue Fox Ceramics and smell some naturally scented hand-poured candles by Wilton Street Craft Co. and so many more!

This unique Christmas experience opens on Friday 29 November from 10.00am to 4.00pm, followed by a special late-night Winter Warmer from 5.00pm to 8.00pm with mulled wine and mince pies available at the museum’s Left Bank cafe bar, which will be open throughout the weekend for cold and hot drinks, homemade cakes, hot meals and light lunches.

Seasonal inspiration is all around, including People’s History Museum’s Christmas tree, which will be adorned with bespoke Christmas decorations handmade by the Etsy Manchester Team.

Also adding to the warm and friendly atmosphere will be the magical sound of carols; on Saturday afternoon (30 November), hear the wonderful NQ Ladies Singing Group and on Sunday (1 December) there will be two performances by the Hallé Youth Training Choir from 11:30am.  DJ Phil Kirkley will also be popping up during the weekend to spin some festive tunes.

Etsy Manchester Team Captain, Emma Cottam, says, “The Etsy Manchester Team are very excited about showcasing our work to visitors.  Months of designing, creating and preparation have taken place ahead of the opening of the Etsy Made Local Manchester weekend and the result is a fabulous array of individual and original ideas.  And as seasonal shopping experiences go, you won’t find anything to compare to the beautiful setting of the Engine Hall at People’s History Museum.”

Etsy offers a platform for highly skilled makers to showcase their creations and to support their business aspirations. Manchester’s Etsy Made Local Market is one of over 50 taking place across the country celebrating the makers, designers and collectors that sell on Etsy.com, encouraging people to think locally to tick off this year’s Christmas present list.
