Train services will come to a halt across the region today as drivers begin strike action

There will be no trains running in the region today as drive drivers from ASLEF strike across fifteen train Companies

The action follows two days of strike action from RMT members which substantially reduced services and which will continue tomorrow and Saturday

Drivers at Northern, Transpennine Express,Cross Country and Avanti West Coast will be taking action today

Being interviewed in the Independent Aslef union boss Mick Whelan said the employers are “corrupt, immoral, disgusting – they’ve done a deal with the government that says they won’t offer us more than 2%.”
