Kemi Badenoch has warned that “Britain is heading for a summer of chaos” in a speech on the economy and calls Burnham a “caretaker” PM.

In a speech this morning in which she said that Andy Burnham is already the prime minister in everything but name she said that Labour is making the “same mistakes” at the Conservatives did when they were in power.

The Tory leader said that her party paid for those mistakes with the biggest defeat in its history.

“I’m not hear to say the Conservative Party was perfect,” she said. “If it was we would still be in government. Many of the things that went wrong were about making announcements before having a plan ready. That is what Andy Burnham is doing.”

“If you look under the hood of Andy Burnham’s proposals, you will find at their core a mistaken belief that is it government that creates growth, it is not, it is business that creates growth”

She said that voters are ‘terrified’ of the prospect of Miliband becoming Chancellor and compared him to a Nigerian military dictator

With her eyes on Andy Burnham’s speech later that morning, she said to Hugh cheers,

“Andy Burnham doesn’t like questions, or Nigel Farage doesn’t like questions….if you want someone who can answer questions, come to me”
