14 employees from Barratt Homes Manchester took on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise over £21,820 for the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity.
The group left their Didsbury office on Friday 5thJune and over the following Saturday and Sunday, climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in that order. After accounting for travel times between destinations, the group completed the challenge in 23 hours and 15 minutes, walking 23 miles and ascending 10,052ft.
Michelle White, Corporate Relationship Manager at Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, said: “We are thrilled to have the support of Barratt Homes Manchester and are incredibly grateful to the team for taking on the Three Peaks Challenge.
It’s an incredible achievement, and they did an amazing job. Every pound they have raised will help us to continue to support patients, families and staff across Manchester and Trafford.”
Through their fundraising efforts, the group raised £10,910, which was then matched by the Barratt Redrow Foundations match funding scheme, which doubled the amount to £21,820.
One of the walkers, Rebecca Dean, Assistant Buyer at Barratt Manchester, said: “It was both mentally and physically challenging at times, but it was an incredibly rewarding experience. I enjoyed every mountain for its own unique character, and each one offered something different that made the journey memorable.”
Rebecca was joined by Mike Cleary, John Caslin, Kevin Furey, Tom Hudson, Ollie Towle, Stewart Scotson, Simon Hughes, Elaine Caulfield, Sophie Worthington, Ben Horridge, Carl Bent, Luke Ingleson and Adam Mosley.
The trust supports various hospitals in the region, including the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
